Clicks per second — CPS — is exactly what it sounds like: how many times you can click your mouse in one second. It's a fun benchmark in gaming communities, especially Minecraft, where fast clicking matters. So what's actually a good score?
Average and good CPS scores
- Average: most people click around 5–7 CPS.
- Good: 8–10 CPS is fast and above average.
- Elite: practiced clickers using special techniques can exceed 10–14 CPS.
Clicking techniques
Jitter clicking uses tension in your arm to vibrate your finger rapidly on the button — fast but hard on the wrist. Butterfly clicking alternates two fingers on one button to roughly double your rate. Drag clicking drops your finger across the button so friction registers many clicks at once. Use them in moderation — comfort matters more than a leaderboard.
