How Morse code works
Morse code represents each letter and number as a sequence of short signals (dots, ·) and long signals (dashes, −). Letters are separated by a space, and words by a slash (/). The most famous sequence is SOS — ··· −−− ··· — the international distress signal, chosen because it's simple and unmistakable.
