Stop reading your Wi-Fi password aloud to guests. A Wi-Fi QR code lets anyone connect by simply pointing their camera at it — and you can make one for free in under a minute.

Step 1: Format the Wi-Fi text

Wi-Fi QR codes encode a special string. Replace the parts in capitals:

WIFI:T:WPA;S:NETWORK_NAME;P:YOUR_PASSWORD;;

Step 2: Generate the code

  1. Open the free QR Code Generator.
  2. Paste your WIFI:... string into the box.
  3. Choose a size and download the PNG.

Step 3: Print and place it

Put it on the fridge, by the front door, or on a guest-room card. iPhone (iOS 11+) and modern Android phones detect Wi-Fi QR codes natively from the camera app — no extra app needed.

Is it safe?

The code contains your password in plain text, so only share it with people you'd give the password to anyway. Because our generator runs entirely in your browser, the password is never sent to us or anyone else.

Frequently asked questions

Do Wi-Fi QR codes work on iPhone?

Yes. iOS 11 and later read Wi-Fi QR codes directly from the Camera app — point, tap the prompt, and you're connected.

Will the code still work if I change my password?

No. The password is baked into the code, so generate a new one whenever you change your Wi-Fi password.
